Wayne Driskill Miniature Firearms 2 The Finest In Museum Quality Miniature Firearms

This is a neat 1/3 scale pair of Smith & Wesson handcuffs made by master miniaturist David Kucer of Canada.  About 2 7/8" long overall.  Hand machined from solid steel.  Absolutely fully functional, they even pull through like the original full sized handcuffs.  Finished in the white.  Complete with one key and the original Kucer lift top walnut casing, unlined.

This is a neat 1/2 scale Remington Model 1866 Navy rolling block pistol.  I believe it to have been made by Tom Weston from the details of the case interior and interior lid label markings.  6 3/8" long overall with a 4 1/16" .22 caliber rifled barrel.  High polished blue finish with the exceptions of the hammer & breechblock which are casecolored, turning silver.  The left side of the receiver marked "REMINGTONS ILION N. Y. U.S.A., PAT. MAY 30 NOV 15TH 1864 APRIL 17TH 1862"  Checkered hammer and breechblock spurs.  Smooth straight grained walnut grip and forearm.  Spur trigger.  Complete with a nice mahogony casing, French fit with red leather lining.  There are 6 .22 short blanks included, one of which I fired!  There is a small sliver of wood missing on the upper right side of the forearm.

This is a new one on me.  About a 1/3 scale K-98 Mauser bolt action rifle by Tom Weston of Mexico City.  10 7/8" long overall with a 4 3/4" .22 caliber barrel that is chambered for the .22 short rimfire cartridge.  Blue steel finish except for part of the bolt and the bayonet guide which are finished in the white.  Straight grained walnut stock and handguard.  Although the K-98 Mauser was a magazine fed repeating rifle, this is made as a single shot.  The trigger guard is oversized so you can get your trigger finger in to fire this piece.  The firing pin is centerfire, so it is doubtfull that this will actually fire .22 short rimfire cartridges, but the barrel does show powder residue and other evidence of having been fired.  Weston may have made some special centerfire cartridges for this at one time.  Complete with the original delux Weston walnut casing with red leather lining, French fit, and beveled glass.  The bottom of the case with the typical red Weston maker's tag.  There is a small chip out ot the stock just at the rear of the top action tang.

This is a very pretty 47% scale Colt single action army revolver by Uberti in Italy.  5" long overall with a 2 19/32" rifled barrel of .21 caliber.  Expertly engraved by master engraver Tom Hicks of Texas with about 80% coverage.  Really nice deep chiseled scrolls with wonderful background work.  Silver plated finish that is starting to get a nice tarnished patina.  High relief raised carved ivory grips with a short horn steer head on the left side.  The ivory showing really nice grain.  The 5 1/2" barrel has the one line Colt barrel address.  Blackpowder frame.  Complete with a great key lock walnut casing which includes 18 solid brass dummy cartridges, a brass oiler, interior lid label, and case key.

This is a wonderful percussion pocket knife pistol by world class miniature maker Walter Agnoletto of Italy.  Closed it measures 2 5/8" X 13/16" X 1 1/8".  The blade opens as any standard pocket knife with a thumb nail notch.  The spring loaded barrel is released by a sliding button on the back side and swivels into place.  The barrel measures 1 13/16" long including the nipple X 5/16" square and has about a .22 caliber bore.  The sides and bottom of the barrel engine turned.  The hammer is manually cocked and is released by a slide button on the front.  Beautiful high polished charcoal blue finish which is fading to silver in a few places.  The back side of the blade and the blade spring with some nice ornate file work.  Ivory scales with an oval German silver medallion inset into the right side.  The clip point blade measures 1 3/4" X 11/16" X 1/16".  Complete with the original Agnoletto mahogany casing which includes a combination tool, a powder flask/measure, 11 lead balls, and 2 percussion caps.  The case interior French fit in red velvet.  The case lid inlaid with the typical Agnoletto four point star in contrasting lighter and darker (probably ebony) woods.  A great piece by one of the best miniature makers of this century!

I don't believe this to be a miniature, rather I think it's a small percussion pistol, probably carried on a watch chain.  3 3/8" long overall with 1 1/2" smoothbored brass barrels.  Beautiful ivory grips with a great aged patina.  The steel frame, hammer, & ring trigger look to have once been case colored, but are mostly gray now with just traces of color in the protected areas.  The really unusual thing about this small pistol is how it works.  There are two nipples on the top barrel.  One for the top barrel and one for the bottom barrel.  The nose of the hammer rotates, by hand, to change between barrels.  There is a finely knurled ring at the peremiter of the rotating hammer nose to make it easier to grip, and there is a spring detent which locks the nose into the proper position to strike the nipples.  There are no markings, but this is very well made and obviously antique.  I checked in Winant's book "Firearms Curiosa" and found similar pistols using this rotating hammer nose principle, but did not find one exactly like this.  Includes a non-original walnut casing, French fit, with purple velvet lining.
